PLACES TO STAY

Camping:

Forest Service Campgounds

Stanislaus National Forest permits dispersed camping. Pack it in, pack it out. Free fire permits are required for use of camping stoves and campfires. The forest service roads that are peppered throughout the forest are great for this. The camping at "Bridge to nowhere" (parking for Herring Creek Dom and Frankensteins) can be crowded on Summer weekends.

Lodging:

Strawberry Inn- Stayed at a couple times. In the Fall, they have cheaper rates.

Hotels and Motels listed

Bed and Breakfasts:

There are several in Sonora and along 108. I haven't tried them, but would like to.

One Bed and Breakfast seems to have been written up some.
